Hi, my intro....

Little intro....Tabula Rasa is Latin for "Blank Slate", and is a theory that humans are made without pre-programmed knowledge and idea, meaning everything we know comes from culture. It was termed by John Locke, but he certainly wasn't the first to come up with this idea.....Nonetheless, I believe this idea to be true, especially morally. The point of this blog is to try to wipe my mind or slate, and rewrite the errors I have been taught. Hopefully this will help you to do as well…
As for my name, Tesla Harrison…. Nikola Tesla was a inventor from the 19th and 20th century. While people like Thomas Edison were playing with static shocks, Tesla was playing with lightning. Perhaps nobody else in history has changed technology so much and so rapidly, and with so little credit to doing so….However, his peaceful intentions paved the way for nuclear weapons and the abuse of natural resources. Tesla died poor and alone. As for the other part of my name….Hubert Harrison was also a 19th and 20th century man of underrated fame. He was a black intellectual giant living in Harlem, and perhaps the father of black civil rights in America. He and Tesla were parallels in certain ways. He is also vastly under credited in his contributions to society (actually much more so than Tesla). He also died poor, although not alone. I am still reading books about both of them, and thus my judgments and critiques of them are not yet complete.
But in reality, the name Tesla Harrison is to mask my identity. I feel no reason to give my real name at this time. However, notable aspects that do shape my thinking and perspective: 21 years old, male, white, upper-middle class, ¾ grandparents poor immigrants from Europe, no political affiliation, raised Catholic but no religious identity, college student at local state school, anthropology major, no sexual identity.
